🐬 WELCOME TO THE 2026/2027 SEASON – LET’S MAKE WAVES!
We’re thrilled to be gearing up for another exciting season at Dolphins, and we can’t wait to welcome our swimmers back after the winter break. Whether your child is taking their very first splash or racing toward the finish line, we’re here to support them every stroke of the way.
At Dolphins, we believe in more than just teaching swimming – we nurture confidence, resilience, and life skills that extend far beyond the pool. Our programme is designed to help each swimmer grow, set goals, and build routines that empower them both in and out of the water.
From beginner Learn-to-Swim classes to competitive training, we offer a pathway for every age and ability. Swimming teaches discipline, builds character, and fosters friendships – and we think that’s one of the greatest gifts we can give our children.
🏆 MORE THAN A SWIM SCHOOL – A PARTNERSHIP FOR EXCELLENCE
We’re proud to have partnered with Atlantis Swimming Club for over 25 years. Together, we’ve coached hundreds of swimmers – many of whom have gone on to achieve national recognition and even represent South Africa internationally. To all our past graduates now thriving in club swimming: we salute you and wish you continued success!
Our instructors are not just qualified – they’re experienced swimmers themselves, bringing first-hand knowledge and passion to every lesson. All are fully registered with Swim South Africa and regularly attend updated instructor programmes to ensure the highest standard of coaching.
🏫 MAKING A SPLASH IN OUR COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
Our school’s programme has demonstrated remarkable growth over recent seasons, and its impact continues to resonate.
Through a collaborative partnership with Atlantis Swimming Club, Aquatics South Africa, and the Gauteng Department of Education, Sports, Arts and Culture, we have extended our Water Safety and Learn-to-Swim initiative to Greyville Primary School and Impala Crescent Primary School. To date, over 900 young swimmers have benefited from this life-saving programme, gaining essential skills, confidence, and a lasting love for the water.
This season, we are also pleased to launch a new programme with Redwood Academy, where Dolphins instructors will conduct the Learn-to-Swim sessions at the school’s pool.
📅 PHASED RETURN – WHAT TO EXPECT
Note that we will again phase in our return to swimming. Level 2 (Starfish), Level 3 (Seals), Level 4 (Swordfish), Level 5 (Marlins), Level 6 (Stingrays) and Level 7 (Sharks) will commence with lessons on Saturday 1 August 2026.
Younger and newly registered swimmers, our Level 1 (Tadpoles), will start their swim season on Tuesday 1 September 2026.
Existing swimmers will receive re-registration details directly. For new families, please check our website for updated info on bookings, lesson times, fees, and school policies.
💙 THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF OUR DOLPHIN’S FAMILY
To every parent, guardian, and supporter – thank you.
Your trust and dedication mean the world to us. By choosing to get your children into the water, you’re giving them far more than a sport—you’re investing in their health, their confidence, and their future. Together, we’re building not just stronger swimmers, but stronger young people: resilient, focused, and equipped with life skills that reach far beyond the pool.
We’re counting down the days to another wonderful season of growth, fun, and achievement.
Let’s make it one to remember!
Yours in Swimming,
Julie and the Dolphins Team 🐬
About Us
Celebrating over 30 years of service
Founded in 1996, Dolphins Swim School was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to equip local children with essential life skills through the transformative power of swimming.
At the helm is Julie, our owner and professional coach, whose lifelong passion for the water runs deep. As a swimmer who experienced the harsh limitations of apartheid on her own athletic journey, Julie is driven by a profound commitment to ensure that every child in our new democracy has the opportunity to swim, train, and compete on equal footing.
Dolphins has evolved from a humble backyard venture into a fully-fledged, registered Learn-to-Swim School with a team of qualified and accredited staff.
Our advanced Learn-to-Swim programme caters for children and adults of all ages and abilities. Starting with foundational water safety and confidence-building, our carefully structured levels guide swimmers through technical stroke development and on to squad training. For a detailed breakdown of the skills covered at each stage, please visit our website.
Dolphins is proud to support the local Atlantis Swimming Club by preparing athletes for the competitive arena. Over the years, many of our swimmers have gone on to represent South Africa, with numerous others competing at national and regional championships each year.
Seasonal lessons run during the warmer months from August to May, held in a heated, enclosed facility—and, for more advanced swimmers, at the local Virgin Active and municipal pool.
As a Swimming South Africa-registered school, Dolphins Swim School remains a trusted and enduring part of our community, committed to excellence in every stroke.
SPECIAL THANK YOU!
Thanks once again to everyone for your ongoing support and commitment to Dolphins Swim School. Know that your effort to get our kids swimming and active is the best investment you can make.
Together we can ensure that our children learn to be positive, manage their time, develop self-discipline and establish a culture for healthy living.
Swimming, like all sport develops skills and builds confidence, resilience and discipline. These values are the best gifts that we can give our children.
Thank you for making us part of your lives.
