Our structured swimming programme helps every swimmer build confidence, improve technique and progress safely through each level at their own pace.
Tadpoles are our excited Aqua-Tots. They learn the basic concepts of floating and gliding. We also build water confidence and introduce important safety drills. Tadpoles start with the fundamental skills of kicking, getting their faces wet and blowing bubbles. They are introduced to movement through water. Tadpoles are made comfortable and assisted by our instructors and with teaching aids.
Starfish are our confident Aqua-Stars. They improve on the basic swimming skills of kicking and blowing bubbles rhythmically to improve their breathing technique. The water safety drills are consolidated, and they get introduced to new skills of diving, jump-ins, floating and gliding on their backs. Starfish use fewer teaching aids and swim confidently with less instructor assistance.
Seals are our Independent Aqua-Players. Our Seals are much more confident and start enjoying the water, making them independent and playful. They focus on learning the primary stroke and kick drills. Seals do more daring jump-ins and improve on breathing techniques for freestyle. They swim independently, without the assistance of the instructor and without any teaching aids. Seals are water safe and are introduced to proper diving.
Swordfish are our Aqua-Braves. Swordfish love swimming and have learnt the routines and drills that make them fast and sound swimmers. The introduction of strokes is taught with breathing and kicking drills. Swordfish learn freestyle and backstroke, with drills that consolidate their technique for efficient strokes, as well as improving their diving.
Marlins are Aqua-Sailors. Their strokes are refined with breathing and kicking drills. Marlins are introduced to lap swimming. This helps to improve their basic fitness and skill. Marlins refine their freestyle and backstroke start and finish techniques and can confidently complete a few laps of the pool in both freestyle and backstroke.
Stingrays are our Aqua-Flyers. Stingrays move effortlessly through the water as they refine their freestyle and backstroke drills to improve stamina and technique. Training and diving techniques are consolidated, and they are also introduced to breaststroke. They learn to coordinate their leg and arm movements, as well as breathing in all three strokes.
Sharks are introduced to squad training, where they learn speed, endurance and technique as they drill their freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke in a 25m pool. They are taught butterfly and refine their starts, dives, tumble turns and finishes. They also learn the basic rules of competitive swimming. Sharks graduate and can join any competitive training squad or club.
